YY Coffee sits comfortably in the café and casual dining scene of Maylands, blending a playful, visually vibrant atmosphere with offerings that span from coffee culture staples to hearty meals. Located on Whatley Crescent, it’s a spot that locals drift into not just for a caffeine fix but for a relaxed hangout where the décor sparks conversation as much as the menu does.

Inside, the bold pink walls and the unmistakable Hello Kitty and pop-culture touches (including a quirky Pikachu mural) set a lighthearted, cheerful tone that makes this café stand out. Its interior scheme plays well with families and younger crowds looking for a spot that doubles as a fun environment as much as a dining destination. The presence of colorful plush toys in the window and floral wall panels invites a casual, cozy vibe that feels welcoming whether you come solo, with friends, or with little ones.

The menu reflects a mix of café classics and more substantial dishes that lean toward Taiwanese and Italian influences. There’s a satisfying balance between breakfasts like eggs on toast or eggs benni, and mains such as chicken and waffles—a standout for those wanting a brunch-style treat. Local reviewers highlight the quality of items like chorizo omelettes and a respected laksa dish, which speaks to the range of tastes covered here. The establishment has shown flexibility and attentiveness, evidenced by accommodating special dish requests outside regular hours.

Service at YY Coffee tends to be warm and attentive, complementing the approachable atmosphere. The tidy and well-kept space underlines a strong pride in presentation and hygiene, which echoes through the positive local feedback. The café’s hours make it convenient for multiple visits throughout the day, whether popping in for a long macchiato mid-morning or settling in for a lunch that veers away from the usual café fare.

YY Coffee fits naturally into Maylands’ evolving mix of eateries, appealing to locals who appreciate a splash of whimsy alongside their food and drink. It’s a place best enjoyed on relaxed weekday mornings or early weekends when the light highlights the vivid interior, providing a cheerful backdrop to meals and meetups. Families, creative types, and casual diners who appreciate a café with personality will likely find themselves coming back to YY Coffee, drawn as much by the atmosphere as by the food on the plate.

I saw this place on instagram recently and it seemed interesting. Im glad I went because it was great. The pink theme is unique and the decorations are great, especially the line on Pikachu on the wall. The two staff I saw were both very nice. I got a milkshake and a chorizo omelette. Both were extremely good. Highly recommended, would go again.

Cutest little cafe, fun for little one. Tasty dishes you would have to come more than once for. Very clean and tidy. Decors are adorable. Love the vibe.

I visited yycoffee for the first time and adored the decor. In the front windows sat colorful hello kitty plushies in a variety of sizes and colours. The inner café was painted pink and boasted a floral flower wall with booths and few cafe tables and chairs. The cafe is popular with locals and boasts hello kitty decor from floor to ceiling. The staff were very friendly 10/10 will visit again. We loved the milkshakes

Had the worst craving for their laksa and came in on a Sunday, not realising that the laksa was a weekday-only special. They made an exception and made me a laksa anyway, which I really appreciated! Always great service, cute decor and lovely food packed with flavour with convenient hours for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Not our first time here and won’t be our last.

Lovely and cute Hello Kitty–themed café serving Taiwanese and Italian dishes. Service was superb — friendly and attentive. We ordered the duck noodles and chilli clam spaghetti. The duck noodle soup looked light but was full of flavour, though the duck meat was a little tough. The chilli clam spaghetti was the highlight — smoky, with fresh and juicy clams, plus a subtle hint of wine that was a nice touch. Just wish the spaghetti portion was slightly bigger for the price. Overall, a charming spot with good food and lots of cuteness

Great little cute spot for a coffee and brunch. Now they also serve hot meals such as Laksa and Udon. This might be my new lunch spot! Authentic flavours too. The aesthetic is one appeal but the food is genuinely good too. Highly recommended.

YY Café is an absolute treat! The ambience is super cute and a dream for Sanrio lovers — Hello Kitty everywhere From the décor to the utensils, everything is beautifully themed and so charming. The food was just as impressive as the vibe. We tried the popcorn chicken, kimchi beef brioche burger, and beef noodle soup — all super yum and full of flavour. Desserts and drinks were a highlight too: the double chocolate cake was rich and delicious, and the chocolate frappe, Biscoff coffee frappe, and iced mocha were all spot on Such a fun, cozy spot with great food and drinks. Would definitely go again!

We came here on Christmas Day and had a great experience. Parking was easy, and sitting outside in the morning was perfect. We ordered the duck noodle soup and the tuna sandwich — both were really tasty and nicely done. You can tell the food is prepared with care. This place has definitely become one of our new go-to spots for weekend coffee. Would happily come back again.
